After a weekend soccer tournament (which her team once again won, leaving them 3 for 3 in summer championships), Liesl and I left on Monday afternoon for our final summer adventure -- camping at Timothy Lake on Mt Hood for 2 days, with her bestie Ella. It was touch and go whether or not we would go, because wildfire smoke had blown in from WA and BC and choked the air on Sunday. But the forecast was for winds to arrive and blow it away by Monday night, and we were all really excited to go, so we decided to take a chance and drive up.
We arrived at 5:15, just in time to set up our tent, chairs, kitchen, and hammock, and eat dinner. We got swarmed by some yellowjackets who were after our mac and cheese and chicken, so we retreated to eat inside the tent. Jasper did not approve, and sat longingly outside.
