cutie pie

After I pick up the children and come home, they both head to the stairs and get great pleasure out of climbing the stairs together. Liesl loves it, and Sebastian urges her on. He climbs on his hands and knees too, in the true spirit of solidarity.  She has also become very attached to her winter jacket and will drag it around like a blankie.

Strolling around town on a beautiful Sunday morning.

On Saturday we visited a new spice shop that just opened in Dobbs Ferry. Liesl tasted chocolate for the first time, in the form of hot chocolate. She fell in love. I think she was trying to eat the cup, to get every last lick of chocolate. Our girl has a sweet tooth.

holiday preparations!

We got a very short Christmas tree this year, and put it high up on a table. We were worried about Liesl (the wrecker) trying to climb the tree to get the decorations, and pulling it over on herself, so we decided to just put it out of her reach. Sebastian loved helping to decorate the tree and did a great job.

On Sunday we made gingerbread cookies together - candy canes, gingerbread people, and trees - they were super yummy. (Thanks for the recipe, Popo!)

Liesl loved the cookies. Yum yum yum. Look at that grin.

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas....
