Father's Day!

We celebrated Father's Day at Trish and Jeff's place in Jersey City. It was terrific to have both of our parents with us! Sebastian was surrounded by grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousin Rio, all of whom were forced to join the great chase.

And happy 40th wedding anniversary, too!

Sebbe's first trip to the beach

Unfortunately, it was an overcast and rainy day. But we took Sebastian to the beach - to Jones Beach on Long Island - with my mom and dad, for his first foray. He loved the sand. At first he was interested in the waves and the water, but I think it was bit cold on his toes.

cousin Danica comes to visit!! (and her mom and dad, of course)

My brother Carl and his family - wife Kim and daughter Danica - came to visit for five magical days. The two toddlers took to each other immediately, and began a game of chase that lasted as long as the visit. Sebbe fell in love. :) It was so fun to watch them copy each other at the table, playing with trains, in the sandbox, in the bath. And they learned to hold hands, which melted the hearts of all the adults.

We went to the Hastings farmers market, watched the boats go by for the Henry Hudson Quadricentennial, visited a couple of local playgrounds, and ventured into the city for the Central Park Zoo, the Museum of Natural History and the Shake Shack.
