Cannon Beach

On Saturday, we drove out to Cannon Beach. We enjoyed the usual: Tom's Fish and Chips, Bruce's candy store, aerobie, beach baseball, bocce, splashing in the waves. The wind was a little brisk, which was a shame, and Jasper wasn't with us, which was a tragedy, but we had a lovely day.

When I told the counter man at Tom's that we always come to Tom's, every time we're in Cannon Beach without fail, and have done so for a decade, he insisted on giving us some swag -- check out my new beanie!
We cuddled under the blanket for a little while at first -- such a cold wind coming off the ocean!
Some master craftsmen were creating this amazing sandcastle all afternoon.
It's all sweetness and light and hugs until the Liesl gremlin decides to attack and throw you to the ground.
We taught Roxy how to play beach baseball -- how to hit the ball, what a fielder does, how to get someone out, when to keep running bases. It was a blast.
The girls beat me at bocce, 11-10. Sigh.
