On Sunday, we had breakfast in the cabin and headed back towards Mt. Hood. This time we parked at Trillium Lake and had the joy of the long sled downhill. Jasper romped and chased the sleds. The snow was deeper and fluffier than the previous day and the surroundings were gorgeous.
It was great fun to throw snowballs for Jasper to fetch - he was so confused to get there and find nothing, or try to pick up the snowball and have it melt and disintegrate.
The girls decided to build a snowlady. We agreed first off that she would have long hair, and then on their own Liesl and Camille gave her a lovely bosom. :)
Sebastian busied himself making a protected snow fort and an arsenal of snowballs.
The boys had a throwing contest, to knock the snow off some tall posts.
We hitched up Leo (the Hoang's new dog) to a sled, and he managed to pull Liesl a good way up the hill - pretty cool to see his strength and willingness to haul.
And then we went back to the house again for lunch and to pack up - our family hustled home so that my boys could watch the afternoon Steelers football game. It was a sweet little weekend getaway, and so fun to get in some snow play!
