We had our last riding lesson (for now) during the last week of June. It's been so fun to share the experience with Liesl -- to learn to saddle and ride a horse, to be beginners together -- but we may be coming to the end of our enthusiasm for dressage-style riding. Plus, our instructor Zyla is horse-packing the Oregon PCT in July, and then heading off to college in the fall. (She was taking a gap year to wait out Covid.) I can imagine riding again, and more, but perhaps more western-style trail riding than learning to jump and show in arenas. Steve came to watch our last lesson, to see us walk, trot, and canter around the big barn and to be our photographer and videographer.
