Latourell Falls

 On Saturday morning, we walked in Forest Park with Steve's siblings. (Note Jasper's nose poking out!)

 

On Sunday, we went in two groups to Latourell Falls. Mom and Dad Avery and I visited the falls and then drove along the river, across the Bridge of the Gods, and back along Hwy 14 past Beacon Rock. 

Steve and his Raab crew also went to Latourell Falls, hiking the 3 mile loop up and around the falls, and then back to Crown Point.

wine country/Thorns

On Friday, we went to brunch at Jory at the Allison Inn, wine tasting at Domaine Willamette, and olive oil tasting at Durant. It was a delightful Oregon day.

 

On Saturday we wandered the PSU farmers market and then went to see the Portland Thorns women's soccer team play the Utah Royals. Watching professional women's soccer was a first for many, so that was neat. The game ended in a 2-2 tie.

 

 

 

 

At half-time, the big screen showed many birthday messages. Steve took a photo of the screen and then used AI to replace the photo and message with a personalized graduation message, which he texted to Seb (who had left at half-time). Best prank ever. Seb totally believed it! Even complained to his friends about how embarrassing we were!

 

Rio's 21st birthday was coming up on Monday, so we got an assortment of cupcakes and sang to her. 

 

graduation weekend

We had family visiting for Seb's high school graduation, and it was so fun to celebrate together!  Mom and Dad Raab, Mary, Trish, Tom and Rio, and Mom and Dad Avery all arrived on Wednesday/Thursday. On Thursday, we went to the Rose Garden and then wandered NW 23rd (with a mandatory stop at Salt and Straw)

 

 

 

 

For dinner, we gathered at Nostrana for an excellent Italian meal - salads, pizzas, entrees, dessert. 

We told the server that we were celebrating Seb's graduation, and she said that any celebration needed a candle.... and she brought this rooster candle. So funny and weird.

senior prom

Lincoln's senior prom was on Saturday night at the Crystal Ballroom downtown. Seb and a big group of friends gathered at 5pm in the Rose Garden to take photos. And then Seb, Cason, and Ethan, who were taking a trio of friends as their dates, had dinner together at Bamboo Sushi before heading to the event space.
