Seb

Some photos from Seb's April, starting with the unfortunate: v expensive parking ticket.
Lunch with the boys at a food cart pod, and the wreckage of a Sushi Hana dinner.

Casino night! Now that they're 18, they've been driving across the river to Vancouver to play backjack at a local casino. They've had some big wins and some painful losses.
Seb is still filming various sports: basketball for PSB, soccer for PCU, and lacrosse and softball for Lincoln.
With Steve, cheering for some sports team - Barca? Steelers draft pick? Messi? No!! It’s Liesl’s softball game!! She had 3 hits and 4 RBIs.
One of Seb's Xmas presents was two tickets to a Trailblazers basketball game. He and Emi went to the playoff game on Sunday afternoon to watch the Blazers vs. the Spurs. The Blazers were winning at half before crashing out in the second half.

Macalester College admitted Seb off their waitlist in late April -- they sent him a winter hat and cool socks! Still a no, but nice swag.
The spring project for product design is sewing a sweatshirt from scraps and pieces. Seb is wearing his initial collage, and then the second photo is the sweatshirt he made.

Jasper

Sweet pup. He's still struggling with a soft-tissue injury, from some overly enthusiastic romping with me in the forest, but he loves to hang out with me and go to softball games and nap in the sun.

Table Mtn hike

Brandi, Adrienne, Sara, and I went hiking up Table Mountain in the Columbia River Gorge. It was 10 miles, with 3400 feet of elevation gain, with some extremely steep sections. It was a beautifully sunny day and we could see Mt Hood, Adams, Rainier, and St Helens, as well as east and west along the river. It was a wonderful day.

So, so steep up the aptly named (and brilliantly signed) Heartbreak Ridge.
A peek across to the top of Table Mntn and eastwards along the Columbia River.  We're going way up there!!

Clambering up a boulder field. So fun! I love scrambling.
Lovely grassy field at the top, with mountain views on all sides.

This dropoff was really freaky -- the trail went right next to it.
We started at 8:45 and finished at 3:45 -- long day, but so worth it.

softball pics

Softball season is a crazy blur of daily practices and games. The team is not winning many games, but Liesl is getting solid playing time and contributing both in the field and at the plate. Good times!

 Last week's game.
