Sunday in SF

Steve and Liesl hopped on the cable car first thing Sunday morning and rode it to a breakfast place, in search of French toast.
And then they wandered the city on a gorgeous day --
They retreated to the hotel for an afternoon break - they ran on the gym treadmills and swam in the pool.
And then there was more late-afternoon wandering and enjoying the sights -

Steve and Liesl take SF

Steve and Liesl spent a long weekend in San Francisco together - they flew down on Saturday morning and started their day off with breakfast at Tartine, and then Liesl played around a cool playground.
And then the main event: Alcatraz! Liesl was so excited to see the island prison. They rode the ferry over on what was a gorgeous day.
And then there was a walk up to Coit Tower, and dinner in Chinatown.

turkey trot!

We ran in the 4-mile Turkey Trot at the Oregon Zoo this morning. It was a clear and sunny but cold morning - temperatures just at freezing. The race started at 8 am at the Forestry Center, following the road two miles downhill to the Rose Garden and then turning around to come back up two miles, and finishing inside the Zoo. Seb and Steve ran together and finished in 29:10 - 7:17 per mile. Liesl started off super fast but then slowed down on the uphill - we finished in 41 mins, about 9:45 per mile. It was Liesl's longest run ever and she did great.

We came back home for celebratory French toast and hot chocolate w marshmallows, and felt cozy and virtuous.
Pre-race and post-race photos!
We decided to go out for Thanksgiving dinner rather than cook the whole feast at home, and had 5:30 reservations at Besaw's. So we spent the afternoon playing games and watching a movie, taking Jasper for a walk in the gorgeous sunshine, playing soccer and basketball.

But I still made an apple pie, because it's not Thanksgiving without leftover pie and cranberry nut bread.
