Timothy Lake, part 3

Jasper woke up on Friday morning and wanted some Liesl snuggles before heading out. He's such a good camping companion -- happy to walk anywhere with you, alert at night to people walking by, willing to crawl into the tent whenever the day is over. He sleeps on a blanket at Seb's feet, curled up in a ball, snoring. If I have to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, he immediately wakes up and comes outside with me. I like the companionship in the dark.
We each picked a final adventure on Friday morning -- Liesl wanted to scramble on these enormous rocks; I went for a 4-mile run with Jasper on the stretch of the PCT that goes out of the campground; Seb took a solitary kayak trip. I was hot after my run, so Liesl and I quickly changed and jumped into the lake for a final swim. And then we packed everything up and headed home.

Jasper was so exhausted by our adventures that while we were unloading the car at home, he lay down in the middle of the road to rest. He's never done that before and it cracked us up.
