baseball tourney

Seb had a baseball tournament in Salem this weekend -- two games on Saturday in the late afternoon and evening, and another one in Albany (further south) on Sunday morning. So we got a hotel room for the night, to avoid multiple back and forths. Liesl came along for the adventure; she was hoping for a hotel pool, but it was closed because of Covid).

The games were a little tough - they lost all three by sizeable margins - but Seb played mostly third base and did well, and it was fun to watch. There was a bike park in the same park, and while the boys were warming up Liesl and I explored it.

During the games we got cozy in our down puffy blankets, Jasper at our feet. And then afterward we went to a brewery with Cason and Tyson, Graeme and Harrison, and Graeme's mom Lori. We sat outdoors and ate dinner together, like old times, and it was just the best to take another step toward normal life.
