catapult project and science fair

Sebastian's teacher assigned them to build a catapult and test it, using different projectiles. She didn't give them a blueprint and told them they couldn't look up a how-to video, so they had to research it and learn about designs. Sebastian and his friend Youssef spent a couple of hours on Wednesday assembling their materials, and then a couple of hours on Friday building it out of popsicle sticks, metal rods, plastic spoons, a spring, rubber bands, and a whole lot of hot glue.

Sebastian and his friends participated in the science fair again this year, with a very low-effort yet fun project involving various methods of cooling soda.

This was them at the fair tonight, which was very fun and well attended.

Liesl also had a science fair project, testing out the explosive powers of various candies in Coke. Mentos created the most explosive geyser, to their great delight.
