the Portland play

Sebastian and his class helped stage the school's performance of the Portland Play, a play about the history of Portland from the Oregon trail up to the present. It was fun and hokey - so many songs! - and Seb had a very bit narrative part. He did great - projected well, with confidence, and remembered his lines - it was fun to see. *

Thursday was also Art Night at the school, and Seb displayed and then brought home three paintings he'd done this year.

*(It was also tough to see, because it was at noon and the Honors College had senior thesis presentations from 8 - 5:30 today - so I made breakfasts and lunches, dropped Liesl off at preschool at 7:30, moderated thesis presentations from 8-12, drove home, watched the play, and drove back in time for the 2 pm thesis presentation... and then picked up Liesl at 5:15 and came home ... there was a load of laundry, last night's dishes, and dinner prep in there too... working parenthood is exhausting in its details.)
