Mom/Grandma Raab arrived on Thursday afternoon, to the great joy of both children. Sebastian has been counting down the days (Liesl would have been too, but her counting skills are still nascent). :) We made her an enormous red heart with stickers and glitter glue decorations, and Sebastian wrote "Welcome Grandma!" on a big pink banner - both were stuck to the front windows of our home.
We took her to the zoo today, to see Lily the baby elephant. And she took us out to dinner at Serratto's, an Italian restaurant. We're very excited for her visit, and for Dad/Grandpa to arrive on Wednesday.
(In sadder news, I sprained my ankle - really, very badly sprained - on Tuesday afternoon. The swelling was ridiculous, with my ankle two to three times its normal size. I am icing, resting, elevating, and hoping that it recovers soon. Sigh. Such bad timing.)
