Liesl and friends had their last Friday Night Dance dinner-dance lesson-ice cream extravaganza on Nov. 3rd.
The club soccer team also marked the end of regular season with a team party at the People's Courts, a new play space on the east side with cornhole, ping-pong, pickleball courts, and an arcade.
And finally, the last soccer games of the season: Liesl's team competed in the end-of season President's Cup. They won two of three games in their bracket and made it to the semi-final of the President's Cup, which was on Saturday. They were playing a team from Vancouver that had beaten them 5-0 in the regular season; they went down 2-0 at the half, and were were resigned to defeat, but then they battled back and tied it up 2-2 at the end of regular time. The game went to extra time -- no score -- and then to penalty kicks, which PCU won. Crazy happy celebration ensued! On to the final championship game on Sunday!
The game was really close -- both teams played well and it ended in a 1-1 tie. Again, still tied at the end of extra time, and we went to penalty kicks. Sadly, this time the girls lost, and had to settle for second place. Still, a wonderful end to a great season.
