Xmas Eve day

We had a lovely Christmas Eve day - Seb set up his train track around the tree, we went for a long walk in misty, mossy Forest Park, we laughed ourselves silly watching Home Alone, and I made our Christmas dinner. It was nice to have our fancy meal on Christmas Eve, when our anticipation of the day to come was at its peak, and no one was tired out from the excitement of opening presents.

 

We had roasted leg of lamb, green beans with toasted pecans, delicata squash with apples and cranberries, mashed potatoes, Parker house rolls, and fennel and pistachio salad. For dessert, gingerbread cake and hazelnut chocolate cookies.
