On Friday, we ventured to a local art studio for some Xmas ornament creation. Sebastian was not super thrilled, but he was a good sport and ended up having a great time with the clay (the studio tech encouraged him to slam it down on the table repeatedly to flatten it out... great stuff).

We started off by painting/glazing clay ornaments that will now be fired so they are bright and shiny -

And then the kids played with slab clay, making gingerbread houses from scratch. There were apparently molds available (or stencils?) but they disdained the shortcut in order to create their own designs.

In other news, we started playing a new family game: Carcassone!! Steve wins every time, of course, but the rest of us enjoy playing for second place. :)
