The weather forecast for Portland and the surrounding area today was for snow, wind, very cold temperatures, and ice storms. The perfect day for snowshoeing at Mt. Hood! Anne, Anja, and I, intrepid/foolhardy/stubborn/optimistic souls, headed out very early to get in a winter hike before the storm arrived. We decided to hike up to Mirror Lake and had a wonderful time - gorgeous snow, lovely company, and an easy drive there and back.

 Mt Hood - on a clear day - would appear just to the left, above their heads. Another day, perhaps. :)
