We flew from Nassau to Orlando and then took a bus to Disney World's Animal Kingdom Lodge. Holy moly, what a place!! Definitely the closest I've ever been to being on a safari; the tourists all stay inside the hotel and lodge buildings, and the animals have free reign to roam the property surrounding. We had an Indian/African lunch at a delicious restaurant (Sanaa), and outside the windows were birds, zebras, giraffes, gazelles, tortoises, and cattle - just amazing.

We checked into our room on the 4th floor and the view out our balcony was just as cool - lots of animals just roaming around.
We all donned our special Disney bracelets (with pre-loaded admissions and fast passes) and set out for some exploring. We went to the Polynesian lodge, where Liesl got a lei and the kids shared a pineapple dole whip (ech), and then we hopped on the monorail to ride around a lake and see our surroundings.

And then it was back to the lodge for some more animal appreciation and an early bedtime - everyone was tired and we had a full day of Disney World to look forward to -
