Our third day at Atlantis was July 4th; the resort had decorated with American flags and red-white-blue streamers. (Bahamas Independence Day is July 10th, 1974. We were sad to miss it - that would have been more fun, to my mind.) We enjoyed another beautiful morning, a different but equally decadent breakfast buffet, and then another day of playing in the pools with the family. We started in the kiddie pool, with a playground structure that was constantly being doused with sprays and dumping buckets, and then moved to the Royal pool to play keep-away (boys vs girls) and underwater tag. We took some goofy photos - the adults took turns going on the rapid river ride and visiting the gym - and the kids got tanned and sunburned and waterlogged. It was great to see everyone playing together - all of the adults with all of the kids.
This is the bottom of a waterslide - you can see the tube in the middle, through the shark tank - we came back to this the next day.
Sebastian was such a good sport about his back and inability to swim. He hung out with us most of the day, reading, talking to Rio, throwing a ball with us.
Dinner was at a steakhouse - Steve's steak was gargantuan - and then we came back to our hotel room to watch the fireworks. They were directly outside our balcony over the ocean, so we had a fantastic view, and everyone came it to watch with us.
