end of spring soccer

Both children played spring soccer this year - Sebastian with the LYS Red team, and Liesl with the Forest Heights Blunicorns, her same team from fall. They both had great seasons and improved greatly - noticeably - over the course of the games. Liesl in particular had a lot of fun on the pitch and her competitive side - her game face - was much in evidence.

Sebastian's team finished up two weeks ago and had a pizza party to celebrate the season. He'll be playing for this same team again next fall - we actually just got the email today inviting him to play on the Red (top) team, after tryouts last week. A couple of his school friends also made this team, so he'll have company and we'll have carpool friends.

Liesl's last soccer game of spring was Saturday. She scored five goals and was tenacious on defense, despite it being a hot day and overly grassy field (and she'd had a baseball game earlier the same day). She too will play competitive soccer in the fall, to give her the chance to improve a little more with more play and practice.
