We were sad to say goodbye to the cousins on Sunday, and both children were a little off all week (i.e. grumpy and sensitive). I could understand - there was a definite change in adrenaline level, and both children had been very good about sharing all of their toys and spaces, and all of us were a little tired. But we had a lovely adventure on Sunday afternoon, following that most magic of all occurrences: a four-person nap day!
Steve created a treasure hunt that took us to the field at the school, Mill Pond park, the Balch Creek trail, the Japanese Garden, and then finally to Salt and Straw for ice cream treats. The children loved it, especially Sebastian - reading the little poem clues and figuring out where to go and then heading off - it was terrific.
