summer Olympics

We signed both kids up for the FPE summer Olympics again, a fun event run by parents as a fundraiser for the school. They divide the kids into six country teams, parade around the field waving flags to the Olympics soundtrack, and then compete in a variety of fun events. There is tug of war, a costume contest, water balloons, an obstacle course with scooters and tires, a puzzle challenge - so much fun stuff. At the end, everyone gets a medal and pizza. It's pretty well organized and both kids had a blast on Sunday morning.

On Saturday we had Liesl's soccer team end-of-year party, and then Seb's baseball team participated in the league's hit-a-thon and took team photos.

And in between all of these fun events and sports, Sebastian fell deep into Harry Potter's world, racing through books 2 and 3. And Steve introduced Liesl to the joys of the original Star Wars - the first three movies made - and they had a marathon viewing session of all three. So she now knows all kinds of fun pop culture references.
