Cannon Beach

There was beach baseball, flying the kite, throwing the football, running along the sand to Haystack Rock, fish and chips at Tom's and saltwater taffy from Bruce's, jumping the waves, running down the dunes, diving in the water, burying ourselves, and sand wrestling ... it was a pretty perfect Monday at Cannon Beach.
Burying a tennis ball for Jasper to dig and find.
I love Jasper's expression here - he looks like he's laughing with me.
Our trusty dragon kite, six years old and still flying strong.
Fish and chips and fish tacos at Tom's - our Cannon Beach tradition.

Jasper wanted so badly to get in on the wrestling matches, but he clearly knew that he wasn't allowed, and so he just sat really closely and leaned in. Such a good boy.
This game involved throwing the football down the dunes, racing down to grab it, and then wrestling it away from each other and tackling each other on the uphill sprint to get back to the top with the ball. It was pretty funny and sandy and stayed remarkably good-tempered.
Liesl gathered her brave powers and dove into this part river/part ocean channel at the end of the day.
Ice cream cones for the evening ride home.
