Liesl played in her first soccer tournament this weekend, with her LYS competitive team (2010 birth year, so she's among the youngest of the group). She had a game on Friday, a game on Saturday, and two on Sunday, in the 90/100 degree heat and sun. It was pretty brutal out there for the girls, but they did a fantastic job. They really showed a lot of commitment and effort, and you could see them trying to remember proper spacing, and when to pass, and where on the field to run and pass. Liesl had a couple of breakaways and scored a goal, which was awesome. They ended up losing in the final game, coming away with the silver medal, which was a fine result (but was not what Liesl wanted - she was pretty disappointed).
