We came back into town and tried out a Mexican bodega/restaurant in the NE - it looked like a hole in the wall, but the reviews were raves and we were not disappointed. We took our pork pibil and tamales and taco-ish food to Wilshire Park and picnicked and played there until we got too hot, and then enjoyed amazing frozen yogurt at Eb & Bean. And then we went to OMSI for a little science play - dominoes, a chemistry experiment or two, some fun physics labwork ... A very full, and very fun day.
