Sebastian has made huge strides in all kinds of ways over the last few weeks. I'm sorry that it has coincided with my return to work, as I've been left with less time to blog and photograph than I would like.

In the realm of movement, he has fully mastered the crawl and is moving onto baby steps. He likes to walk hanging onto our hands, and he cruises around the living room using various pieces of furniture. He is able to pull himself up to standing with ease, although he has trouble getting back down. He occasionally manages to simply sit, and occasionally crouches down and gets his arms and knees down - but it's clearly a bit of a struggle.

One of his most exciting new tricks is waving hello and goodbye. He first managed it this past week and since then has managed to wave hello to daddy, goodbye to auntie Trish, and hello/goodbye to a number of my neighbors. He gets very excited (I get very excited. :) ) He seems to have grasped that he can imitate our movements, which has led to all sorts of fun new tricks.

Steve has been trying new games with the boy - passing a ball back and forth, and "sharing". Sebastian tries very hard to roll his little wooden ball back to daddy. Sometimes he manages it, and most times it goes in a totally different direction (or no direction at all). Sharing involves Steve handing a toy to Sebbe and saying "share", and holding out his hands. Sebastian usually hands the toy back, and we both applaud. Good times.

We have still been trying new foods - this weekend, we gave him corn and flounder. We have been glorying in the summer bounty at the farmers market - strawberries and blueberries and cherries, corn and zucchini, and peaches and tomatoes still to come.

He has also started to figure out books - he looks at them (Peek-a-Who? is his favorite) and turns the pages and pats them with his hands. He doesn't have much patience for being read to, however - he'll often grab the book from me and start chewing it.

We have some new photos, but they're on the other computer, which is misbehaving. I'll hope to post some tomorrow.
