Instead of schlepping presents with us to Hawaii for our grand family vacation celebration, we declared Saturday to be our family Xmas. We ate fig bread and fruit for breakfast and then opened stocking stuffers and other presents. Highlights include Sebastian's array of snacks, and his wrapped $1; Liesl made beautiful presents for everyone, with sweet drawings and coupons; and our new Japanese kitchen knives. We leaned heavily into the practical (socks, mechanical pencils, and handwarmers), the traditional (books and pajamas), and the Hawaii-themed (sunglasses, shorts, and sunscreen). It was a sweet morning.
