Sebastian played a soccer game on Sunday morning against one of the toughest teams in his division. (That team has won previous games 8-0, 8-0, 7-1...) The first half ended scoreless; in the second half the other team went up 1-0, then LYS rallied to score two goals and went up 2-1, but then the opponent came back with two goals and were winning 3-2, and then in the final seconds of the game Seb's teammate was fouled in the box.
Penalty kick! Coach John asked Seb to take the PK, so he stepped up to the ball. The ref said that this was the final play of the game, without even the opportunity to score off any rebound. So if Seb made it, the game would end in a 3-3 tie; if he missed, they lost 3-2. No pressure.... Seb says he was super nervous, but he stepped up to the ball and kicked it squarely into the side net. GOAL! 3-3 tie!!! Such an amazing opportunity for him to be the hero.
Two videos of the pk (one from Steve, one from Peyton's dad Jason):
