apple tasting

My colleague Jill went out to Hood River for a day, and brought back a box full of five different apple varieties from Kiyokawa Orchards. She made gorgeous little signs and then set up an apple tasting table outside the Honors student lounge. So fun! Students came by, tasted the fruit, voted on their favorite type, and then got to take an apple with them.

There were extra apples, so I brought one of each variety home and we had a family apple tasting after dinner. Liesl and Seb both preferred the ambrosia and blondee varieties; I liked the blondee and red ruben; Steve liked them all!
