Liesl's dance class ended the year with a performance at Lincoln Hall - one small part of Northwest Dance Project's annual student showcase. It was wonderful - sweet, charming, lovely dancing, nervous and excited and proud children. We are so happy to be part of this little community of dancers, teachers, and parents in Portland. The performance company is world-class, the teachers are engaged and supportive, and it's a small enough community that you can be personally known. Liesl was anxious before the show in the backstage green room but was given a magic pill (an Altoid!) by teacher Caitlin which fixed her right up.

Before the show began, all of the dancers gathered on stage for a group warmup and exercises, led by Ching Ching Wong, one of the performance company's most electrifying dancers and the teacher of many youth classes. Liesl is at the very far left in the front row.
The 4-5 year olds were the second act of the show, ably led by their amazing child whisperer teacher, Miss Caitlin:

It was so unbearably cute. I laughed with joy at the sweetness of our girl and her friends. There's a grainy video on Steve's phone that I'll upload once I figure out the mechanics of such a transfer. :)
