Christmas Eve!

Liesl assisting in the making of fig bread on the morning of the 24th. Mom and I made dough, let it rise, made fig and pecan filling, rolled out the dough, spread the filling and cut the dough, and let it rise again... Liesl played with flour and water, making piles and rows. :)

In the afternoon, we went to our friends the Hoang's for Vietnamese beef pho, jackfruit, and tea, and it was amazing and lovely and cozy and merry-making.

We came back home and had a little nibble of fig bread, and then Dad read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas to our two and to the two in Sacramento via Skype.

We put out three cookies for Santa - a gingerbread man, a peanut butter cookie, and a butter cookie, along with some Santa juice (Clear Creek liqueur). Sebastian wrote a nice happy note to Santa.

 

 And then Santa came!!!
