school carnival

Friday night was the school's annual carnival, with bouncy houses, trampolines, climbing wall,  "treasure" tables, food trucks, and water dunk tank. Seb and Liesl both stayed on the school grounds from the moment school let out until the very end, running around with friends the whole time. I volunteered for much of it, selling tickets, helping with set up and clean up, etc. It was fun - Seb's last carnival!

Liesl and her friends got in line for the monkey motion trampoline ride at 4, an hour before the carnival even opened, to be sure that they were first in line.

Sebastian and his friends mostly ran around and played on the field, taking short breaks to eat candy and popsicles, but otherwise existing mostly outside the carnival rides.

 And lo, she was the first one on the ride, and felt her patience was rewarded.

 Dunk the teacher! Mrs. Crews was a very good sport.

 At 7:30, all the 5th graders get to participate in an obstacle course race.

 And then there was a tug of war.

 The losing team faced falling into the kiddie pool full of water.

All in all, a good time.
