We drove down to Delaware on Saturday morning, first stopping in Astoria for lamb shawarma sandwiches and in downtown Manhattan for bagels, lox, and cream cheese at Russ & Daughters. The drive along the NJ turnpike and then all the way through Delaware to Fenwick was long, uneventful, and not as traffic-filled as we feared. We arrived around 6 pm and the children made a mad dash out of the car, ran toward their cousins, and then changed and hopped into the swimming pool. It was perfect.
On Sunday we played at the local playground, went to the Fenwick Island beach, swam in our pool, lazed around in the hot afternoon, and then enjoyed a dinner with the Ford cousins (Tom and Sally, Ronnie and Jason, Sarah and Matt, plus kids).
